About Our Collars

All of the collars and leashes made at WoolDog PDX are handcrafted in Portland, OR using products made in the U.S.  The collars and leash handles are all named after rivers in Oregon and counties in New Hampshire near the Door Mill Woolen Mill.

Heavy duty nylon webbing, contoured heavy duty side release buckles coupled with nickel plated D-rings give these collars the strength and durability to withstand just about any level of wear and tear. Each collar is hand sewn, pressed, double and triple stitched at all pressure points and finished with care.  All fabric that is used is made with either Pendleton wool or Dorr Mill Wool.

Pendleton Woolen Mills has been a family owned and operated business in Oregon for 150 years. They offer a wide variety of styles and patterns to choose from (basically my own personal Disneyland).

Since 1963 the Dorr Mill Store has been manufacturing woolen fabrics for the fiber arts. For many years it was made across the street at Dorr Woolen Company’s mill. After the mill closed we’ve had it made domestically to our specifications.

Wool is naturally water, stain and flea resistant, flame retardant and versatile. That makes this fabric the perfect choice for durable and stylish collars and leashes that will last for years!
